Gas (propane) — fuel

Burn characteristics

Propane gas provides instant, controllable heat with virtually no lag time. Once the flame is lit and the temperature stabilises, it delivers a very consistent and even heat output. Because it burns cleanly, there is no ash production or residue to manage. This makes propane ideal for quick start-ups and precise temperature control during cooking. It behaves predictably in the grill, allowing you to adjust the heat rapidly and maintain steady cooking conditions without the fluctuations common to solid fuels.

Storage

Store propane cylinders upright in a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from direct sunlight and any sources of heat or ignition. Ensure the cylinders are secured to prevent tipping or damage. Keep the valve caps on when not in use to protect the regulator and prevent dirt or debris from entering. Avoid storing propane indoors or in enclosed spaces to reduce the risk of gas accumulation.

Safety notes

Regularly inspect hoses, regulators, and connections for signs of wear, cracks, or leaks before each use. Always turn off the gas supply at the cylinder valve immediately after cooking and before disconnecting any fittings. Never use propane appliances in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces to avoid the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Follow manufacturer guidelines and local regulations for safe handling and use.
